The Origami Music Box of Dreams

The Origami Music Box of Dreams Documentation Video

The Origami Music Box of Dreams was my very first physical computing project in my second year of undergrad. It was a music box made out of origami sail boats tha had wheels made out of paper fish spin above them. The entire box is powered by an Arduino Uno and controlled by a pulley system that uses a motor to spin the wheels. The boats’ rocking motion is controlled by a servo. The lights are actually being connected by nearby radio waves via an antenna. (Hehe get it?) This music box’s concept was to explore chasing our dreams in our waking lives. Fish wheels spin circles around us causing frustration as we try to catch what we want. There are little origami stars beneath the boat, waiting to be reeled in. The endless chase until we finally reach those goals makes the experience all the worth while and beautiful.
